An in-depth interview of the upcoming Citizen Eco-Drive Ring by its lead by Designer, Benjamin Cheng from Hong Kong, highlighting the depth and dimension of the dial and moonphase indicator. A must have for Citizen collectors, a modern version of haute horlogerie that will blow your mind in terms of artistry and technical prowess.
Citizen fans are sure to know that the concept introduced back in 2009, the Citizen Eco-Drive Ring will be released soon. February 8, 2012 to be exact. The model will probably be Citizen very own Haute Horlogerie to the Eco-Drive concept. Combining technological innovation with a design that could make any other mechanical watch a run for its money. As with all Eco-Drive watches, the Ring is solar powered and is actively charge from the perimeter of case itself rather than the conventional dial, resulting to a larger dimension of 44.4 mm in diameter and a thickness of 15.8 mm. The three-dimensional dial is also one of the main reason for a rather thick case, but the artistry and details of the piece is surely top notch. The piece will only be limited to 250 and will probably sell in Japan for roughly around 390,000 Yen.
