Nike to experiment with Glove and Cleat Designs at 2012 Pro Bowl

As you may or may not know, Nike will be taking over the uniform rights for the NFL in April, and they will be taking a little practice run with the cleats and gloves in Hawaii. Darren Rovel posted this picture of Bears' player Charles Tillman and his pretty awesome gloves.   A lot of rumors have been swirling around as to what Nike will do with the uniforms starting in 2012. Many people assume they will make a drastic, futuristic change and look similar to the Oregon uniforms. However, that is likely not the case. Owners will have the final say in what uniforms their team takes to the field, so it's not like Nike can dish out whatever they want. Some rumors have been swirling around since 2012, but these are 100% fake. Don't expect teams to make such drastic changes. These are a mockary of the NFL, making teams look like they belong in the areana football league. More likely, we can expect to see changes in the material and cut of the uniforms, with small variations that reflect the signature style of Nike. These are examples of what Nike did with some major college football programs over the 2011 season. Notice the use of dri fit gear to bring the uniform together, the together, different style of the material, and the subtle and conservative changes to uniforms that make them pretty great. This is the more likely scenario, and it should be exciting. Fans can expect to see the Nike NFL line ready for purchase this April. So, if you were on the verge of buying a new jersey, wait a few more months.
