Haley Bowery And The Manimals To Release Debut Album Born Strange on June 19th!

Rising Pop-Punk band Haley Bowery and The Manimals announced they will release their debut LP Born Strange on June 19th, 2012. Born Strange is a high-energy anthemic 10-track album, which is produced/engineered by Andrew Krivonos, who has worked with JoJo Pellegrino, Kaci Battaglia, and Wu Tang. The songs were recorded at The Brewery Recording Studio in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Earlier this year, the album received pledges – effectively donations- from more than 45 backers via a Kickstarter campaign to allow the band to promote and distribute the debut album.

Critics have been praising Haley Bowery and The Manimals with Rust Zine raving that “What “Born Strange” delivers is a new take on that classic FM sound when straight rock-and-roll went from the studio to the stage with a minimum of production and a maximum of raw emotion. With an abundance of over-the-top performance energy, Haley Bowery doesn’t just emerge on the scene here, she takes it over!”. And entertainment blog Falling Down on the Random simply stating “: “This album is for our generation, the ones that lived [through] Kurt Cobain’s death… the music that we go back to, to escape the pop, electro and bullsh*t hip-hop of today.”

Track list for Born Strange 1. Born Strange 2. Blitzed 3. 29 4. Undertow 5. Lobotomy 6. Jukebox Dive 7. Twelve Secrets 8. Halloween 9. Dream of the Chelsea Hotel 10. All Lies

Haley released her debut EP, Side of the Hill, in February 2011 available on iTunes, and CDbaby. Following the release, she toured North America for two months with singer-songwriter Matthew Pop, playing her songs solo and acoustic. She is now back in New York, performing with her band, The Manimals- and is starting to get noticed for her ferocious stage presence and the explosive, wild live experience she shares with her audience at every show. At a Haley Bowery & the Manimals show, you can expect costume changes, whiskey swilling, profanity-laden crowd baiting, and a serious throwback to the energy and thrill of 70s-era CBGBs. Haley began recording for her first full-length studio album in February 2012, for a spring/summer release.
