Warner Bros. released the total box office gross for the opening of Christoper Nolan's grand finale to his trio of Batman films. Overshadowed by news of a tragic shooting in Colorado on Saturday, the studio announced the film at a total of 160.9m over the weekend making it the third highest opener behind The Avengers and the second Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. Projections before the opening came in at 180m-200m gross total prompting a debate on the effect of shooting.
