Have you ever tried Greek yogurt? It’s both healthy and delicious, two qualities which have it rapidly becoming one of America’s favorite dessert snacks.
Last Wednesday, fans of the product both old and new had reason to celebrate, because yogurt manufacturer Chobani opened their first yogurt bar in New York City’s SoHo district. As reported in The Gourmet Retailer, the store was established to serve “artisanal creations featuring Chobani’s authentic strained Greek yogurt as the primary ingredient, made-to-order by in-house yogurt masters”.
Indeed, this is no ordinary yogurt you pick up at your local grocery store: Chobani’s staff prepare your order off a menu that includes exotic combinations such as “Pistachio & Chocolate” and “Toasted Coconut & Pineapple”, all made using the gourmet ingredients du jour. What’s more, many of their in-store products are also available for take-home purchases in larger quantities for your enjoyment with family and friends.
The Norwich, NY-based company’s CEO, Hamdi Ulukaya, stated that it had been a dream of his to open this type of yogurt bar, saying that he’s “always wanted to bring [the] brand to life in a new way and deliver a unique experience for [Chobani’s] fans”. Opening the bar in a culturally diverse city such as New York is a great way to achieve this goal, and it will hopefully lead to Chobani building more locations across the nation so that yogurt lovers everywhere can similarly rejoice.
