Film-maker and Photographer Anne Deniau was the only person to be given unprecedented access to Alexander McQueen’s shows for thirteen years. This October Abrams will release a never-seen-before collection of these images, entitled ‘Love Looks Not With The Eyes: Thirteen Years With Lee Alexander McQueen’.
The photo book, which includes more than 400 never-seen-before images taken by Deniau during her backstage access to McQueen’s catwalk shows, will offer fans a refreshing glimpse into the life, colour and energy of one of the most loved fashion designers on the planet.
‘Love Looks Not With The Eyes’ begins in September 1997 and ends in March 2010, one month after the McQueen’s death. It documents 26 shows as well as iconic collaborations with Kate Moss, Sarah Burton and Philip Treacy.
“I hope that watching his work over 13 years, condensed in this book [readers will be] shocked or overwhelmed by so much beauty,” said Deniau. “I hope this book leaves people speechless about Lee – since words are insufficient for this man that I loved. I hope readers will fully realise how much Lee gave and how far he went, at his own risk.”
The book is released in hardcover on October 1 2012, and is available for pre-order from Amazon now.
