Vintage Mavens is a South-Florida based apparel brand specializing in hand-picked vintage garments and designs, the company is run by Shareen Sarwar & local photographer Jorge Rubiera. Recently, we got the opportunity to do a brief Q&A with Shareen and wanted to share our findings.
Tell us about yourself:
Name: Shareen Sarwar
Born in NY moved to the Miami at the age of 7.
Favorite things to do in South Florida: I love spending time on the beach, and exploring the Everglades.
Where does the collection originate from? What inspired your collection?
All of our pieces are one-of-a-kind vintage pieces that have been hand picked for the shop. I love the idea of wearing a garment that’s from a different era and that no one else will have.
What sets you apart from other trendsetting designers?
I don’t really like following trends when it comes to picking vintage for the store. Often times, I’m attracted to a specific print or detail rather than purchasing items because they are “trendy” at the time.
Tell us about your two favorite pieces in the collection and why?
I’ve been wearing a lot of vintage color block dresses lately. The two that I like the most in our collection are our Expert Panellist Mini Dress and our Crush On You Color Block Mini Dress.
Fashion forward – tell is about ideas for future lines.
What could shoppers look forward to for next season or next line?
I’m hoping to add some great animal prints into the shop soon! I’m obsessed with animal printed mini dresses!
