Concert Review: Drake's Club Paradise, Arlington, TX

On a night that presented itself as cool and slightly mild weather, the University of Texas at Arlington's campus was filled with warm anticipation and pure excitement as Drake's Club Paradise tour made a stop in Arlington, TX on March 2nd. Yes, Drake was performing, and for added flare, at the brand new College Park Center on campus. This would be the first concert at the campus landmark so, the bar was set high; Drake and company delivered without fault. The night started with Chase N. Cashe (of Surf Club) performing tracks from his previously released mixtape and his sophomore release The Heir Up There. He kept the young crowd moving in wake of the Kendrick, A$AP Rocky & Drake. Next up, the A$AP Mob and their front man A$AP Rocky had the crowd rapping cult classic lyrics of "Peso", "Purple Swag" and "Trilla" which he performed with A$AP Nast and A$AP Twelvy. Wrapping up the opening acts, Kendrick Lamar came out to Take Care's "Buried Alive" Interlude, further intensifying the atmosphere. Mr. Hiii Power continued his set with "Hiii Power", "A.D.H.D" and a powerful freestyle that closed out the opening act portion. Now, to Mr. Graham. After a 20 minute intermission to prepare the stage, the lights dimmed to complete darkness. In an instant a keyboard progression played leading to the soulful track "Lord Knows". Lights flashed as the instrumental played, then, Mr. OVOXO appeared reciting the second verse of the Just Blaze, Rick Ross assisted track. Drake ran through Take Care tracks such as "Underground Kings", "Crew Love", "Shot 4 Me", and the title track "Take Care". He also performed fan favorite tracks from Thank Me Later ("Miss Me" & "Over"). He made friends with the students of UTA, citing the students as his energy source because he had a stomach flu. He also said that UTA has been his best crowd yet. Drake rounded out the night with his top-charting hit "Headlines", leaving us with an impression and memories that my peers will never forget. With all that said, one can now say that Drake is much more than a teen drama star (Degrassi) or a "soft" rapper who sings about your girlfriend. He's now placed himself among the greats (Kanye West, Jay Z, and Lil' Wayne) and has solidified himself as a mainstay in the game.

Frank Ocean says "Nostalgia, Lite" is Never Coming Out

Unfortunate news developed this weekend as Frank Ocean announced via his Tumblr that Nostalgia, Lite was not going to be released. Def Jam also said this weekend that  Nostalgia, Lite would not be released. How do you feel about this annoucement? Do you think this is just a bluff to build anticipation? Let us know what you think down below.
