Tenacious D - To Be The Best
Comedy duo "Tenacious D" compromised of Jack Black & Kyle Gass have been rather quiet over the past few years. Since their Box office movie "The Pick Of Destiny" didn't really do as well as they expected it to, they had seemed to disappear. Well, they're back! At least to an extent. The duo have released a 6 minute film parodying the last few years and what is expected from the new album. The clip features cameo's from Dave Grohl, Josh Groban & a few others. The track also premiere's a new song, "To Be The Best". Sounding very similar to old stuff, I think fans have got to ask themselves. Has this really been worth the wait? Despite this the film is rather amusing. What do you guys think? Let us know in the comments!Trailer Released For Burton's Latest
A first trailer is out for Tim Burton's new film. Dark Shadows is a remake of the classic horror soap opera with the same name (which there exists two versions of, one from the 60s and one made during the early 90s). Starring as the lead character Barnabas is as usual Johnny Depp, and of course we'll also see Burton's wife Helena Bonham Carter in a major role. Others to star in the film are Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green and Chloe Grace Moretz. The story centers about a very, very old vampire waking up during the 1970s and his human family. As this is a remake, there's the usual upset fans. Major gripes with this film is that the trailer has a very comedic tone compare to the more serious series, which I really have to agree with. Hopefully the actual film will have a more serious tone. Apparently Johnny Depp is a huge fan of the original series, and he's the one who bought the rights to the film. Personally I didn't really like the trailer, and as I've been disappointed with a lot of the movies made by Burton the last decade I don't have any high expectations for this one. What do you think?
New On The Road Trailer
A trailer has been released for the upcoming film based on Jack Kerouac's On The Road. Starring as the three main characters are Sam Riley (previously seen in Corbijn's Control), Garret Hedlund and Kristen Stewart. The film is directed by Water Salles, who previously made the Che Guevara bio-pic The Motorcycle Diaries. A pretty good movie, even though I personally didn't get that attached to it. Apparently he used that movie as his pitch to the studio to make this movie, which isn't that weird considering the similarities between the two. As always, the making of this movie has made a lot of fans of the book upset. One of the things mostly cringed about is the fact that Twilight star Kristen Stewart is starring as the female lead Marylou. While I'm no Twilight fan, I have faith in Salles and thought Stewart was more than ok in Adventureland, and so I don't really see what the problem is. Of course, when a movie is made about a book like this, there's going to be angry people, considering its status as a bible for the beatnik generation. Co-starring in the movie is among others Amy Adams, Viggo Mortensen, Steve Buscemi, Kristen Dunst and Terrence Howard and it will premiere at the 65th Cannes Festival in May. Personally I can't wait to see it. What do you think of the trailer?
On The Road trailer released
Perhaps one of the most famous works of 20th Century American Literature is making it's way to the big screen. On The Road, based on the book of the same name, by Jack Kerouac. The film is loosely based on the cross-country adventures of Kerouac, focusing on characters Sal Paradise (Sam Riley) and Dean Moriarty (Garrett Hedlund).
Also featuring Kristen Stewart, Kirsten Dunst and Viggo Mortensen, it appears this film has the proper cast to do justice to the book. Or at least not disappoint.
On the Road is coming out May 23rd.
