TIME Magazine - 27th Feb Issue - Lil' Kim

For it's February 27th issue TIME Magazine is feautring Kim Jong Un, the youngest son of previous dictator Kim Jong-il. For the cover they have taken a bit of a risk, besides the fact that they're going to cause controversy with articles on him anyway, the "Lil' Kim" reference (A female rapper for those unfamiliar) is taking it a bit too far I think. Either way, I can see this getting a lot of attention when it hits the newstands. What do you think? Was it a wise move or not? Let us know in the comments!

Seddiqi Polo Challenge

The Argentinean Pablo Mac Donough, Richard Mille’s Ambassador and World Polo Tour no.1 in 2010 and 2011, participated to the first edition of the ‘Seddiqi Polo Challenge’ which saw the Richard Mille Polo Team compete with Ali Al Bawardi’s Dubai Polo Team. Hosted by the UAE’s leading timepiece retailer Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, the ‘Seddiqi Polo Challenge’ was held at the luxurious Desert Palm Resort and saw Richard Mille emerging victorious with a 5 - 3 win over Ali Al Bawardi’s Team.

Led by Pablo Mac Donough, the Richard Mille Team included World No. 3 Juan Martin Nero, Ali Bawardi’s son Tariq, and Richard Mille’s team patron, H.E. Bahar Jefri. The Dubai Polo Team, included professional players Martin Valent, Ramiro Guinazu, and the World Polo Tour no. 2 Adolfo Cambiaso, along with Patron Ali Al Bawardi. It was an exceptional first edition of the ‘Seddiqi Polo Challenge’ which paid homage to the three best polo players in the world. Richard Mille and Mr. Abdul Hamied Seddiqi, (Vice Chairman of Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons) presented the winning players with their trophy and applauded the efforts of both teams for putting on a world class performance. Commenting on the game, Mr. Seddiqi stated “Today’s match was a testament to the skill of these great players and one cannot help but appreciate that polo is a sport that requires great precision and strength, yet has a timeless elegance to it. It is a privilege for us to be associated with some of the finest names in polo and to have conducted the first Seddiqi Polo Challenge in Dubai”. Whilst competing on the field the Richard Mille players wore specially crafted RM 010 limited edition timepieces, featuring an ‘all black’ DLC-treated case and red dial, which is in line with the team’s official colours. And for the 2012 polo season Richard Mille unveiled at the Salon International de la Haute Horologerie the new RM 053 Pablo Mac Donough Polo Tourbillon featuring a totally new ‘armored’ case in titanium carbide engineered to tolerate the extreme shocks likely to occur during a polo match. Inspired by the iconic tonneau shape the case has two raised arcs leading to two viewing windows unveiling a tourbillon movement tilted at a 30˚ angle. The seconds run with the tourbillon cage on the left viewing window and on the right the hours and minutes are shown. Polo is possibly one of the toughest sports for any tourbillon watch to have to deal with; sudden turns, wild swings, the clash of horses and riders, these are forces far greater than the norms found in other sports. Known as the ‘king of sports’ polo is uniquely elegant and highly physical. The Richard Mille Polo Team The Richard Mille Team made its debut in polo in May 2011 completing a successful first season in UK’s most prestigious tournaments such as the Queen’s Cup and the Gold Cup, and culminating with the victory of Silver Cup in Sotogrande, Spain. Jay-Z with a Jaeger-LeCoultre 1931 Reverso at Carnegie Hall

Jay-Z has not been shy on showing off his wrist watch of choice. From the popular Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore named after him in which he donated to charity, then to the famous Hublot Fusion spotted in one of his music video for Watch the Throne. The man has fine taste in luxurious watches, with collections spanning from the mighty Rolex all the way to the enigmatic new comer that is Richard Mille, that had watch connoisseurs going bonkers over his collections. Now, at the Carnegie Hall concert, Jay-Z step-up his game, big time. Wearing an Audemars Piguet Millenary, seen on the third photo below and ended the show with a traditional Rolex Day-Date II (second photo). But the biggest surprise of all horology was the fact that he was seen wearing a Jaeger-LeCoultre. Yes, you heard me right, a Jaeger-LeCoultre, and not just any Jaeger-LeCoultre, but the limited edition Rose Gold tribute to 1931. This is one big surprise from Jay-Z watch repertoire. To simply add one of the most slickest and underrated watch from 2011, then pair it up with a black jacket with that super chic rose gold of a reverso is a clear winner. The man has indeed step-up his game, and the adornment of watch lovers around the world. From AP to JLC and all the way to Rolex, to even see have a glimpse of his watch collection would simply be eye gouging for most.   (Photos via Hodinkee)

Shaun White scores first perfect score in X Games History

Perhaps the biggest action sports athlete in the world, Shaun White, made history last night by scoring a perfect run. White continues to wow sports fans, year after year, in whatever he does. Definitely worth the watch. Unfortunately, he still looks like an 80's rockstar. I guess when you're the best boarder in the world, you have your own video game and flavor of bubble gum, you can do whatever you want. White, much like Tony Hawk did with skateboarding , has taken a largely niche sport, and helped to turned it into a mainstream attraction. Congratulations to Shaun.
