16 year old up-and-comer
Y-Roc drops a new cut entitled "Now In Charge," a cover of Dj Premier's "Supa Star" beat which first made the airwaves in Group Home's 1995 album
Livin' Proof. The New York native is dropping his forthcoming mixtape
Resurrection of the Livin' Proof in May. He says of the inspiration behind the new project:
"The inspiration behind Resurrection Of The Livin' Proof actually came from listening to the Cipha Sounds and Peter Rosenberg Morning Show on Hot 97. They were having a DJ Premier tribute mix on his birthday and [then] Peter said that if an up and coming MC would just rock over the whole Group Home album and was able to really pull it off, than they would be out of here. So that’s were the whole idea and inspiration to do it really came from."
This is going to be the follow up of Y-Roc's debut EP
Word Is Born which came out this past December. Peep the young emcee's new cut at the top.
