Dare to call the boisterous big belly BOSS rap’s hottest artist? On the heels of MMG’s (Maybach Music Group) compilation album titled Self Made Vol. 2, Ricky Roza is actively seeking the title many rapper’s envy, King of Summer. For their collaboration with Converse, Gorillaz have let loose the video for their new single which features Andre 3000 (of Outkast fame) & James Murphy (of LCD Soundsystem fame).
What with Damon Alburn's notably successful band Blur getting back together along with the concerts which are sure to follow, this could be the last we hear from Gorillaz for a while. I'd say this is a good track to mark the end of an era!
The video is definitely interesting, let's put it that way!

The “Three artist. One song.” advertisement is a Converse sponsored movement in which different artist are enlisted from various genres to collaborate on one track. For those not familiar with Converse’s campaign, the earlier description may have you thinking of boring “mash-up” songs with over paid, B list singers and rappers. If so, I’ll be the bearer of bad news and say you are WRONG! What makes “Three artist. One song” so intriguing is Converse’s ability to not only select artists that were/are trendsetters, but to bring together creative minds on one song for true fans to salivate over. The songs already produced by this unique advertisement are called “I’m A Goner” which features Matt & Kim, Soulja Boy and Andrew W.K. and “My Drive Thru” with Santigold, Pharrell, and Julian Casablancas. Well, for the projects third go round, Converse has managed to scrap together Gorillaz, LCD’s James Murphy and Andre 3000 to create “DoYaThing”. Did I just use Gorillaz and Andre 3 stacks in the same sentence? Sick right? The song will be available on Converse’s website starting February 23 along with Gorillaz footwear collection conjured up by Jamie Hewlett. Oh, and I forgot to mention all the songs are FREE. You are welcome.
