Who really lost? Samsung or Consumers

Who really lost? Samsung or consumers

Today’s verdict should not be viewed as a win for Apple, but as a loss for the American consumer. It will lead to fewer choices, less innovation, and potentially higher prices. It is unfortunate that patent law can be manipulated to give one company a monopoly over rectangles with rounded corners, or technology that is being improved every day by Samsung and other companies. "The New iPad"

So, Apple has finally revealed the "New iPad". Guess what it's called... "The New iPad", original right? Anyways, the rumors that we heard before the event mostly seemed to have been true for a change. The "New iPad" has a Retina screen with a resolution of 2048 x 1536. We've also got LTE connectivity for the lucky people in North America, which means lighting fast speeds on a 4G network! We also have a new camera, which seems fairly strange considering hardly anyone uses there iPad as a camera, but, it's still a nice addition. The rear camera is now 5 megapixels & Apple has revived the "iSight" name. The only other big new features are built in dictation along with a faster processor which is apparently twice as fast as the previous iPad. What do you guys think? A worthwhile improvement? Will you buy one? Let us know in the comments!

Studies show Mac users are more fashionable than PC users

Recent facts prove that you were right. According to studies Mac users are more fashionable than there PC counterparts. The question is quickly becoming an age old debate between Mac and PC users. The onset of the famous Mac vs PC commercials have spanned over four years now and the verdict is finally validated and true, no marketing needed. The debate is over victory conceded.   Bundle's study shows that Mac users on average shop at more expensive, fashionable and savvy stores compared to PC users. After collecting data from 700,000 participants Bundle found that Mac users tend to be more fashion forward and sartorially inclined. One could also attribute this to the sheer fact that Macs significantly cost more than PCs and apple users are just generally more affluent than their counterparts. The study shows on average Mac users are 30% more likely to shop at Barney's New York, Jimmy Choo and Henri Bendel than PC users.  Another factory might be that Macs are more often than not used by designers, video editors, directors, web designers, artist etc. These groups tend to be your taste makers, trendsetters and fashion forward thinkers. A small demographic of Mac users but perhaps this is the driving demographic behind the results of these studies. From Mac OS X to simply OS X

I believe we've all seen the sneak peek on the latest installment of the OS X, the Mountain Lion. New features after features are being added, most of which are functionalities taken from the iOS mobile operating system. Rich features such as Messages, Notification Centers, Automatic Notes Syncing and more will be added to probably one of the best operating system out there. Yet, there is one change that most of Mac users should be concerned about. It appears that Apple is gonna drop the Mac from the "Mac OS X" name altogether. The operating system would simply be called, OS X. Just like the iOS for iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches. The dropping of the name, clearly shows the move to one day, completely blur the line with iOS and OS X systems. I'm not saying that the iOS and the OS X would be one and the same in the near future, it would probably pointless to be if dedicated laptops, desktops and tablets still exist. That is, until the the two technologies are almost completely identical. That being said, the move by Apple is unprecedented. By integrating the iOS into the OS X, Apple will be able to create a seamless transition between the two systems by integrating the iOS experience into the laptops and desktops of today. Thereby officially signaling the convergence between mobile operating systems and full fledge operating systems. A path made known since the development of the OS X Lion in the Back to Mac event years back.   (via CultofMac)
