REEBOK REETHYM OF LITE JAPAN RECAP

Reebok is certainly back, judging by the 1000-strong crowd that were whipped into frenzy at Ebisu's Garden Hall during the recent Tokyo Reethym Of Lite launch party. After a successful event in New York last month Reebok were ready to induct their newest creative director, Verbal with an all-out festivas. Taking to the stage early, Verbal introduced himself and his Kozm artists Trippple Nippples, DJ Taku Takahashi, DJ Lucas Valentine and Mademoiselle Yulia who performed a host of classic jams in a ridiculously cool custom Reebok jacket. With not a sweat bead in sight, Verbal jumped around the entire stage creating an incredible atmosphere, no doubt thanks to the epic light show on display behind him. With a quick intro to his American creative mate, Swizz Beatz stormed the stage and proceeded to bang out over an hour of solid Ruff Ryder beats. A showman like no other, Swizz jumped straight into the crowd and rapped amongst his fans declaring that indeed ?Reebok Back!' And with the amount of crazy 'Bok on display it was hard not to believe. Thanks to sneaker freaker for the info and pics.

Atmosphere Drops New Album

Today marks the release of Atmosphere's 6th full-length studio album, The Family Sign. This new record has been created as more of a tribute and ode to their close friends and family members, at least it appears that way. Though this duo has released nearly a dozen studio albums since they rose to the scene in the late 90's, they have recorded mostly EP's and other unofficial albums. This makes The Family Sign Atmosphere's first proper album in three years. So has The Family Sign lived up to the Atmosphere name and to their last album,When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold, released back in '08? Many respectable Atmosphere fans seem to genuinely appreciate the serious lyrical content as well as the varied music styles. The duo seems to really break away from all of the jokes for this album, and that may not necessarily be a bad thing. I do fear that hip and contradictory fans may not really be too fond of this album. Oh well!   Anyway, check out the entire album online now at AOL.. http://music.aol.com/new-releases-full-cds/spinner#/15   Also, check out a few videos from Atmosphere..
