‘REINCARNATED’ featuring Snoop Dogg: Official Documentary Announced

During a New York press conference on Monday, which was attended by Bob Marley's son Rohan, the international hip-hop star announced that he is no longer Snoop 'Dog' but Snoop 'Lion' and has embraced the Rastafarian way of life. A documentary based on his journey will be premier at the Toronto Film Festival this year. The mind boggles. After a 35 day trip to Jamaica, Snoop Dogg explained that he connected with the spirit of Bob Marley and unlocked his own calling as a Reggae artist - he now plans to release a record entitled 'Reincarnated' through the Vice label and retire from writing music about guns, drugs and women.

I didn't know that until I went to the temple, where the High Priest asked me what my name was, and I said, 'Snoop Dogg.' And he looked me in my eyes and said, 'No more. You are the light; you are the lion.'... I have always said I was Bob Marley reincarnated. I feel I have always been a Rastafari. I just didn't have my third eye open, but its wide open right now.

The first track 'La La La' (produced by Diplo/Major Lazer) was released publicly a few days ago. It has since been announced that a documentary following Snoop's journey of self-discovery will be premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival 2012. The trailer features flashbacks across the artist's life and career as well as an insight into the new relationships he built with the Jamaican community - it can be viewed online here. Mac & Devin Go to High School (Official Film Trailer)

Back in December, Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa released the soundtrack to their feature film "Mac A Devin Go To High School". Now, they have let loose the trailer for the film which is due out on DVD on July 3rd. The two & a half minute clip gives a bit of backstory on the film. Wiz plays student Devin, an intelligent high school student who wants to graduate at the top of his class, whilst Snoop plays 15-year Senior Mac, who simply doesn't care about graduating at all. The trailer makes the film look rather hilarious, and I can see it being a viral success. Check it out above & let us know what you think in the comments.

Anchorman 2 : The Legend Continues – Teaser Trailer

A new teaser trailer has just dropped for the Anchorman sequel. The trailer doesn't reveal too much, it is just a teaser trailer after all. We do see that the majority of the cast is returning besides a notably absent Veronica Corningstone. Considering the first film was a cult success, the sequel has a lot to live up to! Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues will hit theaters sometime in 2013. Let us know what you think in the comments!

Steve Jobs Biopic to be Written by The Social Network’s Aaron Sorkin

For a while now there have been rumors on the web that Aaron Sorkin, screenwriter for many successful films such as Moneyball & The Social Network would possibly write Steve Jobs biopic for Sony Pictures. It has now officially been announced through a press-release that Aaron will indeed be signing on to the film. The film, which will be based on Steve Jobs biography, which was written by Walter Isaacson, will be made for the big screen. If his previous work is any indication, it will probably be a box-office smash! There are no additional details as of now. Will you go & see the film? Let us know in the comments!

Trailer Released For Burton’s Latest

A first trailer is out for Tim Burton's new film. Dark Shadows is a remake of the classic horror soap opera with the same name (which there exists two versions of, one from the 60s and one made during the early 90s). Starring as the lead character Barnabas is as usual Johnny Depp, and of course we'll also see Burton's wife Helena Bonham Carter in a major role. Others to star in the film are Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green and Chloe Grace Moretz. The story centers about a very, very old vampire waking up during the 1970s and his human family. As this is a remake, there's the usual upset fans. Major gripes with this film is that the trailer has a very comedic tone compare to the more serious series, which I really have to agree with. Hopefully the actual film will have a more serious tone. Apparently Johnny Depp is a huge fan of the original series, and he's the one who bought the rights to the film. Personally I didn't really like the trailer, and as I've been disappointed with a lot of the movies made by Burton the last decade I don't have any high expectations for this one. What do you think?

New Moonrise Kingdom Poster

A first (beautiful) poster has been released for Wes Anderson's latest feature, Moonrise Kingdom. Some time ago a trailer was released, and to be honest, it looks pretty good. It's very Wes Anderson, of course, but it looks like a more playful Wes, and kind of gives me hope that this will be one of his better ones. With the new poster comes also the news that the film will open the 65th Cannes Festival, on the 16th of May. The US release is set to be the 25th of May.

As you can see some great actors are involved, the most fun in my eyes probably being Bruce Willis. I just think he'll be great in this kind of movie, just as I've loved him in movies like Pulp Fiction and Twelve Monkeys. But Norton, Swinton and McDormand will all be really fun to see as well, and we all know Murray and Schwartzman work in this kind of movie. The movies main characters are two very young lovers (on the poster) played by Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward. It centers on them running away and the adults around them searching for them. The movie is written by Anderson and Roman Coppola. While I'd rather want Wes Anderson to write something with Owen Wilson again, like I said; this actually looks pretty good.

Kanye West New Short Film Taking Place In An Exotic Place

Kanye West has sent a team of his men out to Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Doha Qatar, to find a possible location for his next short film. Most can remember West's first short film "Runaway" that surprised the general audience as West was able to demonstrate his talent for creativity and his innovative styles.

In Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Doha all of the film initiatives are government controlled,” one source involved in the talks told The Observer. “A bidding war is going on between various government entities and private investors to fund the film. There’s pretty intense rivalry here between Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Qatar. They all want to claim the film as their own and take credit for generating the publicity.”

The film will show us what the authentic Middle East is like not all the preconceived notions and stereotypes we have engraved in our minds.

“His reps seemed genuinely enthusiastic about creating a piece which highlights the culture accurately,” one source told The Observer. “There’s a lot of preconceived notions and stereotypes about Emiratis and Qataris, which Westerners often play up. They discussed how Kanye is looking to bridge the cultural divide and break misconceptions.” Thanks to complex magazine for the info.
