Omega Seamaster from James Bond himself
So it seems 2012 is indeed a good year for watches. A few days ago, we just had a glimpse of the 40th anniversary edition of the Royal Oak, and a vintage inspired Deep Sea Chronograph. Both of which are brands owned by the Richemont Group. Perhaps it's time to have a little peek from the other side of the table, I mean a watch made by the so called biggest watch conglomerate in the world, a group called Swatch, who owned almost every other watch brand out there, and one of their most popular has just showed a sneak peek of their latest, perhaps one of the greatest, watch they ever made. The Omega Seamaster, and this year, we're not just getting a simple re-iteration of the Seamaster line, nor are they adding anything new to an already confusing array of Seamasters available in the market. But instead, they are bringing the big guns, perhaps from their biggest ambassador of all, Bond... James Bond. Yeah, you heard me right, James Bond, the fictitious character invented by Ian Fleming is an Omega Ambassador, and the man wears a Seamaster, one pretty badass Seamaster. 2012 marks the 50th anniversary of the Seamaster line, and who better to celebrate with Omega other than Bond himself. You'll instantly noticed the diving bezel itself has the number 50 on red marking, and a black lacquered dial with "007" written on it. The back of the case shows a bullet inscribed with the words "50 years of James Bond", which I am pretty much digging right now. Although, Bond fans will know instantly that Bond wasn't wearing a Seamaster 50 years ago, but was wearing perhaps the most popular diving watch there is, I leave you guys to find out which piece I'm referring to. Despite this, what Omega made here is an incredibly good looking watch that would have Omega collectors go gaga over for. This 41mm size watch runs on the patented Omega co-axial movement, something that is pretty worthwhile and worthy of the Omega heritage. So, if you're intent on getting this piece, better start saving up, cause only 11,007 will be made. Happy hunting! (Photo via Hodinkee)Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Golf
