Annie (Allison Brie) is happy today.
Great news for all comedy lovers out there. The comeback of TV-series
Community finally has a date. NBC tells us the show will start running again on March 15. Fans will be pleased to know that it will take back it's old spot of Thursdays at 8pm, pushing
30 Rock back to 8.30pm.
The show has been on a hiatus since December, apparently because of bad ratings. All I can say is that I hope the ratings will be better when the show returns, and that NBC doesn't do anything stupid. As you all know, the network channels have a thing for canceling great shows way too early, and we can just pray that
Community doesn't end up like
Arrested Development (a show which it shares many similarities with). So all I can say is: spread the word!
Community is definitely one of the best comedy shows on television right now (well, not right now) and it deserves to end gracefully. This doesn't mean that it should go on for some 8 seasons of course, we don't want it to end up declining too much in quality.

Chang (Ken Jeong), one of the funniest characters on the show.
With
The Office spiraling downwards in terms of fun, there isn't a lot of great comedy shows on the air right now. With the news about
Community, NBC also announced that there will be three new comedies this spring.
Betty White's Off Their Rockers, Bent and
Best Friends Forever will all start airing mid-season, and hopefully one of them will be watchable. Knowing how hard it is to make a good comedy show though, the odds are unfortunately against us.
With that said, all we can do is hope that this won't be that last we see of Jeff, Abed or Annie's Boobs. And if you haven't watched
Community yet, go get the DVDs. It really is great.
