Lana Del Rey - Video (Live on American Idol)

Yep, this time last year no one knew who she was. Now she's a megastar with a primetime performance spot on major shows such as SNL & American Idol. There is hope for all of us. After all the hate she got on her SNL performance, the reception for this one seems rather positive. Let us know what you think in the comments!

Lana Del Rey - Blue Jeans

Lana Del Rey has released the new video for her debut single "Blue Jeans". The song's been a fan favorite for a while, & now that she's got a lot of hype behind her she's decided to re-release the song. The video is very much in the style of her other videos, even featuring the same love interest from the "Born To Die" video. Here's the video - What do you guys think? Let us know in the comments!

Lana Del Rey X The Notorious B.I.G - Born Ready To Die

For the 15th year anniversary of Biggie's death a few days ago, numerous projects were put together to honor the Hip-Hop legend. One of those was this, a mash-up/mixtape of Biggie's "Ready To Die" album & Lana Del Rey's "Born To Die". In all honesty it just seems to get hate from hip-hop heads claiming it's disrespectful to Biggie. Then there's the hipsters who think it's great because it's Lana Del Rey. What's your opinion? Lana Del Rey - "Born To Die" Released Today!

Today, Lana Del Rey is going to be very anxious. Her "debut" album drops today, and music critics everywhere are going absolutely crazy. Although, this isn't actually Lana's first album release, she released two albums in 2010, one titled "Nevada", released under the name of "Lana Del Rey" although it was quickly shelved and withdrawn to lack of attention. She also released an album without a stage persona, she released an album under the stage name of "Lizzy Grant", however, that also received little attention; so why are critics everywhere waiting with massive anticipation for this album? I'm going to say a lot of it has to do with "Video Games", the track that was released in 2011's second quarter and is now fast on track to becoming one of the most watched video's on YouTube. This "buzz track" shall we say, propelled Lana to "Who's That Girl?" status. 9 or so months down the line, she's just performed on Saturday Night Live, and has the most Pre-Ordered album of the year so far. The Saturday Night Live performance didn't necessarily help win over any of her critics, she wasn't neccesarily on key throughout the 2 songs, and she looked incredibly uncomfortable on stage. But, then you have to remember, she is the first artist to go on SNL without even a debut album in about 15 years. Lana's career has propelled rapidly and I feel, that as the public, we may have rushed her along a little too quick. The album is currently experiencing a "Marmite" effect, where some critics love it & some hate it. Stereogum, one of the first people to reccomend her when Video Games was released have even called the album "really bad". Let's just hope the criticism stays on the music and nothing else, alright people? Here's her "debut" single "Video Games" - What do you guys think? Have any of you got the album? What's your opinion? Let us know in the comments!
