With Linsanity continuing to rise, Nike deal rumored

If you haven't heard the latest news coming from the wide world of sports, take a quick look at the video above. Jeremy Lin, the 23-year-old Knicks' point guard, who emerged from anonymity last week against the Nets, has taken the world by storm with his dominance of the game and the Knicks sudden winning streak. It is truly nothing short of dominance. Through Lin's first 5 starts, he has more points than other player, beating the likes of Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal. Not only is Linsanity full-blown on the basketball court, but MSG stock is at an all-time high, Modell's is spewing out Lin gear like hotcakes and Lin is blowing up social media.     Now, Nike is rumored to be making the next move. According to Counterkicks.com, an exclusive Jeremy Lin is coming soon. Lin has been  mostly rocking the 2011 Nike Hyperfuse low, but he may officially be hitting the big time with a signature shoe. After being cut by the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets earlier this season, to sleeping on his brother's couch. Today, Lin is the biggest story in sports, and he's set to be a very rich man this summer. If you haven't tuned in to a Knicks game lately, check them out tonight as they face the Sacramento Kings at 7:30.

RUN DMC X ADIDAS SUPERSTAR 80S (25TH ANNIVERSARY)

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Run DMC's killer sneaker anthem 'My Adidas', the three stripes brand are set to re-release a special Superstar 80s edition. The incredible rap jam marked the first time a group consciously sought out sneaker sponsorship, resulting in an unprecedented marriage that would see both brands flourish with fortune and fame. Paving the way for musicians and artists, Run DMC led the pack and in return adidas now pay tribute to their long lasting partnership. Featuring premium buttery leather uppers, 3M black stripes and heel tabs (which pay tribute to DJ legend Jam Master Jay), the Superstar 80s also come complete with 1986 ankle signatures and dookie chain lace jewels. Finished off with three sets of laces (even though we all know Run DMC would never lace their shelltoes, EVER!), adidas look set to release the pack plus matching apparel on 11th November aka 11.11.11. Thanks to Inside The Sneaker Box we cop a closer look.

ADIDAS SUPERSKATE MID STORMTROOPER HELMET (CUSTOM)

It may no longer be anything resembling a sneaker, but this has to rate as one of the craftiest customs we've seek for a while. Taking a bunch of adidas x Star Wars Superskate Mids, designer Freehand Profit has stitched up this perfectly formed Stormtrooper helmet which forms part of his contribution to the Star Wars Remix project. Totally wearable and made with Jedi like devotion it's available now over at eBay.

Nike Lunar Hypergamer – Four New Colorways

Nike's Lunar foam cushioning platform debuted during the huge Olympic push of 2008 alongside Flywire on the original Zoom Hyperdunk, but it's taken three generations to get LunarLon just right to stand alone as the sole, well, sole stuff, for one of Nike Basketball's performance releases. And there's no Flywire on these, but a super-breathable featherweight Hyperfuse upper means the Nike Lunar HyperGamer will be able to compete with the Swoosh's top two non-signature series. Here's a look at the Lunar HyperGamer in four new colorways, a set that's done half in Oklahoma City Thunder colorways, perhaps foreshadowing sneaker journeyman Russell Westbrook's adoption of the model when the NBA season finally begins. There's also one you'd call out for being a Sacramento Kings colorup along with one classic 'Blackout' look, so click through to see 'em all, let us know how they rank and stick with Sneaker News for the US release dates.
